Spider-man 3 : Hopefully no Spoilers from Tom Holland this time

Tom Holland reveals he knows all of the Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 spoilers, joking he’s now learned how to not spoil movies in interviews.

Tom Holland reveals he knows all of the Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 spoilers following a pitch meeting with Sony and Marvel. Since joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, the actor has become a fan-favorite figure in the franchise, winning audiences over with his genuine enthusiasm. It’s clear that Holland is very passionate about playing Peter Parker, as evidenced by the role he played in personally helping Sony and Disney reach a new deal to keep Spider-Man in the MCU last year. While fans definitely appreciate Holland’s spirit, it has a tendency to land the actor in some hot water.

Over the years, Holland’s earned himself an infamous reputation for spoiling key MCU movie details in interviews. Marvel’s so aware of it, Holland wasn’t allowed to read the Infinity War and Endgame scripts, and Benedict Cumberbatch was paired up with Holland on the Infinity War press tour to serve as a babysitter and prevent the youngster from spoiling the film. Marvel better hope Holland has gotten better at keeping secrets, since he now knows what the plan is for the next standalone Spider-Man installment.

Speaking with HeyUGuys at the premiere for his new film Onward, Holland was asked about Spider-Man’s future. He revealed he’s aware of what the filmmakers have in mind and cracked a joke about his penchant for sharing spoilers:

“I know everything now. I had my big pitch meeting with Marvel and Sony about two weeks ago and I know all the secrets. But I’ve also done about a thousand interviews so I know how not to spoil a movie anymore!”

Time will tell if Holland’s really learned how to not spoil a movie, but it makes sense the studios are keeping him in the know now. Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 is going to start filming this summer in order to meet a July 2021 release date, so Holland was going to have to be brought up to speed sooner rather than later. Despite Holland’s history, this isn’t a project where the filmmakers can afford to be secretive with him. Obviously, Holland is the star of this movie and he needs to be kept up to date so he can prepare for his role. This isn’t like Endgame where he had a brief appearance towards the end of the film. It goes without saying Holland will need to read the Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 script.

It will be interesting to see if Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 does anything to further the burgeoning connections between the MCU and Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff films. The Morbius trailer lays the foundation for future crossovers by revealing Michael Keaton’s Vulture is in the movie and Venom 2 marketing is now getting in on the fun. While Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 is primarily going to be a Far From Home sequel, following up on that movie’s cliffhanger (and also setting up Peter’s appearance in the next MCU team-up film), it could possibly feature some Easter eggs for Sony’s films. After all, Holland is rumored to have a cameo in the upcoming Venom 2. The studios would like anything on this front to be saved as a surprise, so if Spider-Man: Homecoming 3 does feature connections to Sony’s franchise, Holland will have to be on his best behavior to keep his mouth shut.
